Book Club with Nicholas Hopton 14th January
Friends of Highclere Book Club
Highclere Castle’s Library is one of the most famous libraries on screen. Many scenes from Downton Abbey have taken place within the warmth and harmony of this room.

Nestled within the world-famous library of Highclere Castle, home to around 6,000 books, the Highclere Castle Book Club offers the perfect setting for lovers of literature. Each month, Friends of Highclere are invited to settle onto the iconic red
sofas for a convivial evening hosted by Lady Carnarvon.
The evening begins with champagne, tea, and home-made sandwiches, before continuing with a private tour of the Castle’s state rooms, led by one of Highclere’s knowledgeable guides.
Every gathering welcomes a distinguished guest from the world of books, whether in biography, non-fiction, or fiction. Past speakers have included Tim Marshall, Liz Earle, Sinclair McKay, Santa Montefiore, Lydia Millen, and Susie Dent, making each
event a memorable and inspiring occasion.
